about us

Our Mission

To serve the residents of Gibson County and preserve the environment by removing, reusing, or recycling the solid waste generated by the residents of the county.

historical Experiences

Did you know??

  • Solid Waste Districts were established in Indiana in 1992 to promote and facilitate more recycling within the State
  • Gibson County is one of the few districts in Indiana to handle both household trash AND recycling – but this is changing
  • There are 11 clean, well-maintained transfer stations within Gibson County
  • Recycle Center in Princeton is the only site enabled to take E-waste including televisions, computers, and their accessories
  • Trash and Compost Yard is the only site enabled to take large household items: furniture and most appliances, brush, and yard/tree trimmings
  • Trash and Compost Yard is also the only site enabled to take large recyclables like tires and large pieces of metal
  • Other than non-flat screen televisions or monitors, and tires, all recycling and trash services are free to Gibson County residents
  • We do NOT accept trash from other counties or states
  • Gibson County currently has 2 Household Hazardous Waste recycle/disposal days – one in spring and one in fall – partnered with Toyota
